This table attempts to draw together all the various reports of railway locomotives which have operated on Afghanistan’s various railways over the years.
These are only the locos I know about so far; there may be many others still to be discovered. Do get in touch if you know of any others, or can offer me details on these ones – have any more survived?

Cross-border operations
The two 1520 mm gauge lines from the former USSR are worked by locomotives belonging to the Uzbek and Turkmen national railways. There are no locos based on the Afghan side of the borders. This is a table of some locos I have identified in photos etc; the list is obviously nothing like complete.

I would like to know:
Can Afghan Locomotives carry its own Wagon and Containers to Tashkent from Hairatan ?
So that those containers could be Transferred to Chinese Train returning from Tashkent to Chinese Station, like Yinkou , Liaoning Province ??
