It is concave] dish detected<br \/>\nGerman Zeppelins sent to<br \/>\nbomb north &#8211; east ports.<br \/>\nTheir course could be judged<br \/>\nfrom engine sounds focussed<br \/>\nonto a receiver, giving<br \/>\n15 minutes warning for<br \/> <br \/>\nanti &#8211; It stands on a gently sloping hillside, 2 km from the coast at Newcastle Road, Fulwell. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sunderland.gov.uk\/index.aspx?articleid=3242\">City of Sunderland website<\/a> has a map showing where it is, on Namey Hill, 570 m north of Carley Hill Cricket Ground (Grid reference <a href=\"http:\/\/www.streetmap.co.uk\/streetmap.dll?G2M?X=438945&amp;Y=559605&amp;A=Y&amp;Z=3\">NZ38945960<\/a>).\n<\/p>\n<p>\nIt is alongside the bridleway about 200 metres west of the Sunderland to South Shields road.
