{"id":6620,"date":"2016-08-18T21:12:31","date_gmt":"2016-08-18T20:12:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.andrewgrantham.co.uk\/afghanistan\/?p=6620"},"modified":"2016-08-18T21:22:38","modified_gmt":"2016-08-18T20:22:38","slug":"tat-railway-progress","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.andrewgrantham.co.uk\/afghanistan\/tat-railway-progress\/","title":{"rendered":"TAT railway progress"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Turkmenistan&#8217;s state news agency TDH has published an update on the <a href=\"\/afghanistan\/railways\/tat-railway\/\">TAT Railway<\/a> project: <a href=\"http:\/\/tdh.gov.tm\/index.php\/en\/official-news-2\/17630-2016-06-28-22-19-58\">News about the international Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Tajikistan railway project<\/a> (TDH, 28 June 2016). <\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/d\/embed?mid=12qM7MCiKCpL9sByL8OgIdaOYyJw&#038;hl=en\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This says construction of the <a href=\"\/afghanistan\/railways\/turkmenistan-to-imanazar-aqina-and-andkhoy\/\">Atamyrat to Imanazar<\/a><sup class='footnote'><a href='#fn-6620-1' id='fnref-6620-1' onclick='return fdfootnote_show(6620)'>1<\/a><\/sup> section of the TAT Railway is &#8220;well underway&#8221;, and is being implemented by the Ministry of Railway Transport of Turkmenistan &#8220;at an accelerated pace&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The railway now runs for 80 km to the site of Imanazar station. Power transmission lines, the Gulistan and Imanazar stations, and two railway bridges 363 m and 256 m long are under construction.<\/p>\n<p>TDH says this section of the line is of great importance, as it will support the industrial development of Lebap velayat (province) including a potash fertiliser mining and processing plant which is under construction.
