Thought you might be interested to know that the Peace Jirga in Kabul this week resolved to look into the matter of completing the rail link from Peshawar to Kabul. unfortunately, the existing Peshawar Landi Kotal leg of the line was badly damaged in floods in July 2007. Long lengths of that line are now hanging in midair and the job I think would be beyond any imaginable economic repair
